The Hermitage's '100 cats in 100 days' gets a boost with PETCO grant

A PETCO Foundation grant will be helping the Hermitage achieve their goal of saving at least 100 felines in an event called, ‘100 Cats in 100 Days.’

This important lifesaving program began back on April 30 and will run until July 31, the time many call ‘kitten season’.  As this is generally the time of year that more cats give birth and shelters see an increase in litters of kittens with and without their mothers.

From September 13 to December 21, 2011 The Hermitage conducted their first 100 Cats 100 days event.  It was so successful that 121 cats were rescued and adopted out.

Powerball jackpot 3rd largest in games history, no winner yet

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Many players are still
hopeful.  The Powerball jackpot now
stands at $475 million dollars, the third biggest prize ever.

Lottery officials expect
Jackpot totals of this size to continue to climb in shorter amounts of
time.  A game redesign last year increased
the odds of winning some kind of prize, but also lowered the possible number
combinations to win.

The redesign means players
don't really need to strike big to get lucky.

A $1 increase and new $1
million and $2 million prizes means the odds of winning something have
increased.

Just last Saturday, there
was no Powerball jackpot winner, but more than a dozen tickets won $1 million
prizes in 10 states.

The next drawing will be
Saturday.
