PCDOT receives Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grant for DDI signs

Pima County Department of Transportation (PCDOT) is the recipient of a $7,000 grant from the GOHS, for installation of ‘DON’T DRIVE IMPAIRED (DDI)’ signs along Pima County roads.

The funds from this grant will be used to purchase and install some 30 signs at locations that have been identified as having a high crash rate or incidents of traffic stops related to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  This is to supplement the fund PCDOT already has.

Funds for this grant are from the Federal Highway Safety Administration Section 402 Program, which is used to support state and community programs to reduce death and injuries on highways.

For more information about the grant please contact Annabelle Valenzuela, Program Manager, Community Relations, at (520)740-6410 or by email at Annabelle.Valenzuela@dot.pima.gov
