Congratulations, Calvin Baker! Congratulations to Superintendent Calvin Baker, recipient of the 2012 Crystal Apple Lifetime Achievement Award. The awards, organized by the Metropolitan Education Commission, recognize those who improve academics and promote graduation from high school. Pima Community College has named a long standing teacher and administrator to the post of Vice President of Instruction (acting). Deborah Yoklic is filling the position (temporarily) that was held by Dr. Lorraine Morales, who was moved to President(acting) of PCC's Community Campus, in March.

Four Tucson 8th graders will represent Arizona at the 2012 Raytheon MATHCOUNTS national competition in Orlando, Florida, after taking the top four places at the state MATHCOUNTS competition, held last weekend at Cienega High School, Vail.
